INDIAN WELLS, CALIFORNIA, USA – Olivia Nicholls with Tereza Mihalikova entered Indian Wells and were unseeded. The Brits made the final defeating two seeded pairs en route.

Olivia Nicholls and Tereza Mihalikova entered the WTA 1000 event and were unseeded. In the first round the Brit/Slovakian were against seventh seeds Anna Danilina & Irina Khromacheva. The seeds broke early in the first set and took the lead. The second set saw the Brit/Slovak re-group and break early to level up the match. In the match tiebreak the seeds pushed hard, however, it was Nicholls & Mihalikova who edged through to take the win 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.

The second round saw the Brit/Slovak against Fanny Stollar & Aldila Sutjiadi. Nicholls & Mihalikova dominated the first set and took the lead. The second set saw Stollar & Sutjiadi mount a fight back and broke serve to level up the match. In the match tiebreak, the Brit/Slovak again dominated and moved into the next round 6-1, 4-6, 10-2.

In the quarter-final Nicholls & Mihalikova were against Anna Kalinskaya & Cally McNally. The Brit/Slovak secured the vital break of serve in the first set to take the lead. The second set was much much closer as Kalinskaya & McNally forced a tiebreak. In the breaker the Brit/Slovak dominated and moved into the next round 6-4, 7-6(1).

The semi-final saw Nicholls & Mihalikova against fifth seeds Hsieh Su-Wei & Shuai Zhang. The seeds stayed close to the Brit/Slovak in the first set and looked to force a tiebreak. However, the Brit/Slovak broke right at the end and took the lead. The second set was a little easier for Nicholls & Mihalikova as they broke serve early and took the match in straight sets 7-5, 6-3.

In the final the Brit/Slovak were against Asia Muhammad & Demi Schuurs. The American/Dutch pair dominated the first set and took the lead. The second set was much closer. Nicholls & Mihalikova forced a tiebreak, however, Muhammad & Schuurs got the break needed and took the match 6-2, 7-6(4).

 

Doubles Round Up

Jack Draper with Tomas Machac were defeated by Marcelo Arevalo & Mate Pavic in the second round in Indian Wells 6-3, 6-4.

Joe Salisbury & Neal Skupski were defeated by Sebastian Korda & Jordan Thompson in the second round in Indian Wells 6-7(2), 7-5, 11-9.

Jamie Murray with Adam Pavlasek were defeated by Jiri Lehecka & Alejandro Tabilo in the second round in Indian Wells 7-6(1), 6-4.

Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool were defeated by Fernando Romboli & John-Patrick Smith in the second round in Indian Wells 6-4, 4-6, 10-5.

Henry Patten with Harri Heliovaara were defeated by Yuki Bhambri & Andre Goransson in the second round in Indian Wells 6-2, 5-7, 10-5.

Jacob Fearnley with Patrick Harper were defeated by Cleeve Harper & Eliot Spizzirri in the first round in Phoenix 6-4, 4-6, 10-4.

Billy Harris & Joshua Paris were defeated by Robert Cash & JJ Tracy in the first round in Cap Cana 6-4, 4-6, 10-5.

Scott Duncan & Marcus Willis were defeated by Liam Hignett & James MacKinley in the first round in Cherbourg 4-6, 6-1, 10-1.

Liam Hignett & James MacKinley were defeated by Jakub Paul & David Pel in the quarter-final in Cherbourg 6-2, 6-4.

Ben Jones with Eero Vasa were defeated by Hamish Stewart & David Poljak in the semi-final in Creteil 7-6(6), 1-6, 10-7.

Hamish Stewart with David Poljak defeated Mats Hermans & Tim Ruehl in the final in Creteil 7-6(1), 6-3.

James Wilkinson with Guilherme Valdoleiros were defeated by Patrick Kaukovalta & Johannes Seeman in the first round in Vale do Lobo 6-2, 6-1.

Finn Bass with Pedro Araujo were defeated by Patrick Kaukovalta & Johannes Seeman in the quarter-final in Vale do Lobo 6-3, 6-2.

James Story & Joe Tyler were defeated by Rafael Izquierdo & Francisco Rocha in the semi-final in Vale do Lobo 6-4, 4-6, 11-9.

Jay Clarke with Grigoriy Lomakin were defeated by Filliberto Fumagalli & Aryan Lakshmann in the first round in Chandigarh 6-3, 1-6, 10-7.

Ali Habib with Cedric Stanke were defeated by Michal Krajci & Leyton Rivera in the quarter-final in Sharm El Sheikh 6-4, 7-6(6).

Ewen Lumsden with Michael Zhu were defeated by Aleksandr Braynin & Georgii Kravchenko in the quarter-final in Sharm El Sheikh 6-2, 7-6(4).

Victoria Allen with Gina Dittmann were defeated by Elena-Teodora Cadar & Isabella Shinikova in the semi-final in Sharm El Sheikh 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.

Stefan Cooper with Alvin Tudorica were defeated by Maikel De Boes & Stijn Paardekooper in the quarter-final in Humantla 6-2, 6-4.

Lucia Cassidy with Dominika Podhajecka were defeated by Andre Lukosuite & Luise Reisel in the quarter-final in Monastir 5-7, 6-3, 10-7.

Esther Adeshina with Julia Adams were defeated by Eryn Cayetano & Emma Slavikova in the final in Monastir 7-5, 3-6, 10-4.

Alicia Barnett with Elixane Lechemia were defeated by Naima Karamoko & Conny Perrin in the first round in Targu Mures 6-1, 7-6(4).

Madeleine Brooks with Justina Mikulskyte were defeated by Camilla Rosatello & Nina Stojanovic in the final in Targu Mures 7-6(1), 6-2.

Mingge Xu with Emerson Jones were defeated by Kanako Morisaki & Akiko Omae in the first round in Kyoto 6-4, 7-6(7).

Alyana Paes with Lauryn Jacobs were defeated by Stefanie Auer & Anastasia Mozgaleva in the first round in Alaminos 6-0, 6-0.

Amelie Brooks & Summer Yardley were defeated by Mercedes Aristegui & Sara Dols in the first round in Alaminos 7-6(5), 6-7(6), 10-8.

Eliz Maloney with Anja Wildgruber were defeated by Claudia Gasparovic & Ekaterina Perelygina in the quarter-final in Alaminos 4-6, 6-1, 10-3.
