KARUIZAWA, NANGO, JAPAN – Naomi Broady and Avaka Okuno claimed the ITF doubles title. The pair were the second seeds and needed match tiebreaks in each round.

Naomi Broady teamed up with Ayako Okuno and were the second seeds. The Brit/Japanese pairing were drawn against Nagi Hanatani & Mei Yamaguchi. The Japanese pair caught the seeds by surprise and secured a break of serve. Broady & Okuno were unable to break back and the set was gone. The second seeds re-grouped in the next set fighting back to level up obtaining a break of serve themselves. In the ensuing match tie break, the seeds edged the win and moved into the quarter-final 4-6, 6-4, 10-7.
In the quarter-final the Brit/Japanese were up against another all Japanese pairing of Mai Hontama & Ayumi Miyamoto. Broady & Okuno were pushed hard in the first set, neither pairing wanting to give an inch. A tiebreak followed and it was Hontama & Ayumi that stole the lead, edging out the seeds. In the second set however, Broady & Okuno stepped it up and dominated the set to bring the match level. The ensuing match tiebreak saw the Brit/Japanese edge again to book a semi-final spot 6-7(5), 6-2, 10-7.
The semi-final saw the second seeds face the fourth seeds. Another all Japanese pairing of Kanako Morisaki & Minori Yonehara. Once again Broady & Okuno started slowly with the fourth seeds breaking serve and taking the set. The second seeds had to regroup once more and came out fighting, breaking to level the match. In the match tiebreak, the second seeds had things a little easier as they moved into the final 4-6, 6-4, 10-6.
In the final the second seeds were against Erina Hayashi & Momoko Kobori. Broady & Okuno took control of the first set, securing a break and taking the lead. Hayashi & Kobori broke in the second set and dominated play to level the match. In the match tiebreak it was the second seeds that edged the match an lifted the trophy 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.
