WINSTON-SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA, USA – Ben Jones & Toby Samuel teamed up for the doubles at the ITF event, the Brits were the third seeds. Jones & Samuel lifted the title but needed match tie breaks to reach it.

Ben Jones & Toby Samuel teamed up for the doubles at the ITF event in Winston-Salem. The Brits were the third seeds. In the first round the Brits were against Americans Aidan Kim & Braden Shick. The seeds dominated the first set as the Americans struggled to hold serve. The second set saw the Americans re-group and stay toe to toe with Jones & Samuel. Kim & Shick forced a tiebreak which they edged to level up the match. In the ensuing match tiebreak it was the seeds who got ahead and took the match 6-1, 6-7(4), 10-5.

The quarter-final saw the Brits against unseeded pair Eduardo Nava & Jakob Schnaitter. Jones & Samuel broke in the first set to take the lead. However, just like the first round, their opponents re-grouped in the second and forced a tiebreak. The American/German pair edged the breaker and levelled up the match. In the match tiebreak Jones & Samuel edged a lead and held on to book a spot in the next round 6-4, 6-7(6), 10-6.

In the semi-final the Brits were against the top seeds Jesse Flores & Alex Knaff. Jones & Samuel went toe to toe with the top seeds in the first set, and managed to secure a break of serve right at the end to take the lead. Flores & Knaff re-grouped in the second set, and broke the Brits to level up the match. In the match tiebreak the third seeds edged a very tight affair to make the final 7-5, 4-6, 10-8.

The final saw the Brits against Robin Catry & Luca Staeheli. The French/Swiss pairing stayed with the seeds at the start of the match, before Jones & Samuel started to dominate. The first set saw Catry & Staeheli stay with the Brits, before the seeds broke for the lead. The second set was just total domination from Jones & Samuel who lost only one game to lift the trophy 6-3, 6-1.

Doubles Round Up

James Story with Casey Hoole were defeated by Robin Catry & Luca Staeheli in the quarter-final in Winston-Salem 6-7(4), 7-6(3), 10-7.

Jonny O’Mara with Nikola Cacic were defeated by Igor Zelenay & Franko Skugor in the first round in Bratislava 6-3, 6-2.

Aidan McHugh with Nicolas Alvarez Varona were defeated by Duarte Vale & Ben Shelton in the first round in Knoxville 6-4, 6-4.

Luke Johnson with Theo Arribage were defeated by Patrick Harper & Shunsuke Mitsui in the first round in Knoxville 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.

Giles Hussey with Anirudh Chandrasekar were defeated by N.Sriram Balaji & Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan in the quarter-final in Knoxville 6-2, 6-7, 10-7.

Julian Cash & Henry Patten were defeated by Tennys Sandgren & Hunter Reese in the semi-final in Knoxville 7-6, 6-4.

Arthur Fery with Harold Mayot were defeated by Antoine Escoffier & Aziz Dougaz in the quarter-final in Calgary 6-3, 6-7, 10-5.

Charles Broom with Constantin Frantzen were defeated by Kai Wehnelt & Julian Ocleppo in the semi-final in Calgary 7-6, 6-2.

Jan Choinski with Max Houkes were defeated by Ignacio Carou & Francisco Comesana in the first round in Montevideo 6-2, 6-2.

David Quayle & Matthew Rankin were defeated by Jeong Yeongseok & Park Uisung in the first round in Sharm-El-Sheikh 6-4, 6-4.

Alastair Gray & Stuart Parker were defeated by Jeong Yeongseok & Park Uisung in the semi-final in Sharm-El-Sheikh 0-0 (RET).

Toby Martin with Tuna Altuna were defeated by Federico Campana & Davide Galoppini in the first round in Antalya 6-4, 6-4.

Hamish Stewart with Kareem Al Allaf were defeated by George Goldhoff & Adrian Oetzbach in the first round in Austin 7-5, 4-6, 12-10.

Tiffany William with Adesuwa Osabuohien were defeated by Louise Kwong & Mara Schmidt in the first round in Champaign 6-3, 6-4.

Yasmina El Sayed with Anastasia Burobina were defeated by Xenia Bandurowska & Natalia Fehr in the first round in Heraklion 6-3, 7-5.

Daniel Little with Tim Sandkaulen were defeated by Domagoj Biljesko & Khumoyun Sultanov in the first round in Heraklion 7-5, 6-2.

Scott Duncan & Marcus Willis were defeated by Domagoj Biljesko & Khumoyun Sultanov in the semi-final in Heraklion 7-6(6), 6-7(10), 11-9.

Ananya Vartak with Mia Mayerova were defeated by Federica Prati & Angelica Raggi in the first round in Monastir 6-1, 6-2.

Abigail Amos & Alisha Reayer were defeated by Virginia Ferrara & Georgia Pedone in the semi-final in Solarino 3-6, 6-1, 14-12.
