OBIDOS, PORTUGAL – Emily Webley-Smith & Sofia Shapatava claimed back to back doubles titles. The third seeds lifted the trophy without dropping a set.

Emily Webley-Smith & Sofia Shapatava once again teamed up for the ITF event in Obidos, Portugal. Seeded third the Brit/Georgian were against Ekaterina Shalimova & Shalimar Talbi. The seeds took control in the first set early and held on to lead. Shalimova & Talbi tried to fight back in the second set, however the Brit/Georgian obtained the break required to move into the quarter-final 6-3, 7-5.

The quarter-final saw the seeds against the Portuguese pairing of Maria Ines Fonte & Francisca Jorge. The first set was dominated by Webley-Smith & Shapatava. The Brit/Georgian broke twice to dominate and seal the lead. In the second set the Portuguese pair tried to fight back. Managing to stay with the seeds for most of the set, however it was the Brit/Georgian that grabbed the vital break of serve and moved into the semi-final 6-2, 6-4.

In the semi-final Webley-Smith & Shapatava were due to face the top seeds Sarah Beth Grey & Olivia Nicholls. However the all British pairing withdrew before the match and handed the third seeds a walkover into the final/

The final the Brit/Georgian were facing the fourth seeds Martina Colmegna & Nuria Parrizas-Diaz. The Italian/Spanish pair stayed with the third seeds for most of the first set, before Webley-Smith & Shapatava secured the break of serve. In the second set the Brit/Georgian totally dominated and lost only one game to lift the trophy and back to back titles 6-4, 6-1.

Emily Morton & Katie Morton were defeated by Valentina Ivanov & Oona Orpana in the first round in Obidos 6-1, 6-1.

Joe Salisbury with Rajeev Ram were defeated by Guido Pella & Diego Schwartzman in the first round in Rome 1-6, 7-5, 11-9.

Dom Inglot with Rohan Bopanna were defeated by Juan Sebastián Cabal & Robert Farah in the first round in Rome 7-6(5), 6-3.

Kyle Edmund & Neal Skupski were defeated by Oliver Marach & Mate Pavić in the quarter-final in Rome 7-6(4), 6-0.

Jamie Murray with Bruno Soares were defeated by Jérémy Chardy & David Goffin in the first round in Rome 6-4, 6-4.

Scott Clayton & Jonny O’Mara were defeated by Fabrício Neis & David Vega Hernández in the first round in Portugal 6-2, 6-7(3), 10-6.

Brydan Klein with Anton Chekhov were defeated by Roberto Cid Subervi & Roberto Ortega Olmedo in the first round in Samarkand 7-6(2), 6-3.

Harriet Dart with Danka Kovinić were defeated by Martina Di Giuseppe & Giulia Gatto-Monticone in the quarter-final France 3-6, 6-3, 11-9.

Eden Silva with Camilla Rosatello were defeated by Anna Kalinskaya & Sofya Lansere in the quarter-final in France 6-3, 6-1.

Naomi Broady with Ayaka Okuno were defeated by Tara Moore & Emina Bektas in the first round in Japan 6-3, 3-6, 10-6.

Tara Moore with Emina Bektas were defeated by Erina Hayashi & Moyuka Uchijima in the quarter-final in Japan 7-5, 3-6, 10-3.
