MONTPELLIER, FRANCE – Emily Appleton & Yuriko Lily Miyazaki entered the event and were unseeded. The Brit/Japanese pairing defeated the top seeds in the first round.

Emily Appleton and Yuriko Lily Miyazaki entered the ITF event in Montpellier. The Brit Japanese were unseeded and drew the top seeds Xenia Knoll & Elena Gabriela Ruse. The Swiss/Romanian pair stayed with Appleton & Miyazaki in the first set and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker Knoll & Ruse edged ahead and took the set. Appleton & Miyazaki re-grouped in the second and broke the top seeds to level the match. In the match tiebreak the Brit/Japanese dominated and moved into the quarter-final 6-7(6), 6-3, 10-1.
In the quarter-final Appleton & Miyazaki were against Irina Fetecau & Marine Partaud. The Romanian/French pairing were no match for the Brit/Japanese who dominated the first set. The second was slightly closer but Appleton & Miyazaki broke serve to move into the semi-final 6-2, 6-3.
The semi-final saw the Brit/Japanese against fourth seeds Estelle Cascino & Camilla Rosatello. The French/Italian pair fought hard against Appleton & Miyazaki and broke right at the end of the set to lead. The second set was just as close, unfortunately Cascino & Rosatello broke serve to seal the spot in the final 7-5, 6-4.
