STUTTGART, GERMANY – Julian Cash with Robert Galloway made the final of the ATP 250 event and made the final. The Brit & American didn’t drop a set en route.
Julian Cash & Robert Galloway were unseeded at the ATP event in Stuttgart. In the first round the Brit/American were against the fourth seeds Ariel Behar & Adam Pavalasek. The match was very close, in the first set both pairs stayed close and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker Cash & Galloway eased through and took the lead. The second set looked to be heading the same way, before the Brit/American got the vital break of serve and moved into the next round 7-6(3), 7-5.
The quarter-final saw the Brit/American against Benjamin Hassan & Daniel Masur. The Germans found Cash & Galloway too strong in the first set. The Brit/American dominated the set and soon had the lead. The second set was a little bit closer. However, Cash & Galloway soon secured the vital break of serve and moved into the next round in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
In the semi-final Cash & Galloway were against Yuki Bhambri & Albano Olivetti. The Indian/French pair stayed close to the Brit/American, until Cash & Galloway broke serve and took the lead. The second set saw the Brit/American break serve and move into the final 7-5, 6-4.
The final saw Cash & Galloway against Mexican pair Marcelo Melo & Rafael Matos. The Brit/American broke serve early in the first set and took the lead. The second set saw Melo & Matos break and level up the match. The final set was a match tiebreak. In this the Mexicans edged through and took the title 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.
