MONASTIR, TUNISIA – Billy Blaydes & Freddy Blaydes entered the ITF event and were unseeded. The Brits made the final before being defeated by the third seeds.

Neal Skupski with Wesley Koolhof were the top seed at the Queens Club. In the first round the Brit/Dutch pair Nikola Mektic & Mate Pavic. The Croatians stayed with the top seeds in the first set, and forced a tiebreak. The breaker saw Mektic & Pavic ease through and take the lead. The second set was more of the same, as neither side could break serve. In the tiebreak it was the seeds that eased through and levelled up the match. In the ensuing match tiebreak Skupski & Koolhof edged through to the next round 6-7(3), 7-6(3), 10-7.

The quarter-final saw the top seeds against Rohan Bopanna & Matthew Ebden. In the first set the top seeds managed to break serve and take the lead. The second set saw Bopanna & Ebden stayed close and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker Skupski & Koolhof edged through and took the victory 6-3, 7-6(5).

In the semi-final the Brit/Dutch pair were against Taylor Fritz & Jiri Lehecka. The unseeded American/Czech pair stayed with the top seeds and secured a break of serve to take the lead. The second set was much closer, as the top seeds stayed with Fritz & Lehecka and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker it was Fritz & Lehecka that eased through and took the victory 6-3, 7-6(4).

 

Doubles

In Monastir Billy Blaydes & Freddy Blaydes entered the ITF event and were unseeded. In the first round the Brits drew the top seeds Fabio Coelho & Aziz Ouakaa. The first set was very close, and the Brits stayed toe to toe with the top seeds. Eventually, Coelho & Ouakaa broke serve and took the lead. The second set was even closer, with the Brits forcing a tiebreak. The tiebreak saw the Brits ease through and level up the match. The ensuing match tiebreak the Blaydes brothers edged through and took the match 5-7, 7-6(4), 10-7.

In the quarter-final the Brits were against another unseeded Brit pairing of Luc Koenig & Andreas Scott. The first set was dominated by Koenig & Scott and they took the lead. The second set saw the Blaydes brothers dominate and level up the match. The ensuing match tiebreak was very close and the brothers edged through to take the match 1-6, 6-2, 11-9.

The semi-final saw the Brits against the third seeds Igor Kudriashov & Aleksandr Lobanov. The Blaydes brothers stayed toe to toe with the seeds and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker the Brits eased through and took the lead. The second set saw the third seeds dominate and level up the match. The match tiebreak the Blaydes brothers edged through and took the win 7-6(4), 2-6, 12-10.

In the final the Brits were against unseeded pair Luca Giacomini & Alexandros Skorilas. The Italian/Greek pair managed to break serve early in the first set to take the lead. The Blaydes brothers stayed toe to toe in the second set and forced a tiebreak. Unfortunately, Giacomini & Skorilas eased through the breaker to lift the title 6-3, 7-6(3).

 

 

Doubles Round Up

Jamie Murray with Michael Venus were defeated by Rohan Bopanna & Matthew Ebden in the first round at Queens 7-6(8), 7-6(5).

Luke Johnson & Julian Cash were defeated by Nicolas Mahut & Fabrice Martin in the first round at Queens 6-7(3), 7-6(2), 14-12.

Liam Broady & Jonny O’Mara were defeated by Dan Evans & Lloyd Glasspool in the first round at Queens 7-6(5), 6-4.

Joe Salisbury with Rajeev Ram were defeated by Edouard Roger-Vasselin & Santiago Gonzalez in the quarter-final at Queens 7-5, 6-7(2), 11-9.

Dan Evans & Lloyd Glasspool were defeated by Ivan Dodig & Austin Krajicek in the quarter-final at Queens 6-4, 6-4.

Alicia Barnett & Olivia Nicholls were defeated by Alexandra Panova & Ulrikke Eikeri in the first round in Birmingham 2-6, 6-2, 10-5.

Freya Christie & Ali Collins were defeated by Barbora Krejcikova & Marta Kostyuk in the quarter-final in Birmingham 6-3, 5-7, 10-5.

Hamish Stewart & Ewan Moore were defeated by Luca Giacomini & Alexandros Skorilas in the quarter-final in Monastir 6-4, 3-6, 10-8.

Kristina Paskauskas with Lamis Alhussein Abdel Aziz were defeated by Lisa Mays & Caroline Romeo in the first round in Monastir 6-4, 6-7(4), 10-7.

Emile Hudd with Duarte Vale were defeated by Ofek Shimanov & Eyal Shyovitz in the first round in Netanya 6-4, 1-6, 10-7.

Jack Pinnington-Jones with Nick Chappell were defeated by Noureldin Adam & Gus Tettamble in the first round in Tulsa 6-4, 1-6, 10-7.

Matthew Summers with James Kent Trotter were defeated by Ozan Baris & Garrett Johns in the quarter-final in Tulsa 6-2, 47-6(6).

Aidan McHugh with Vasil Kirkov were defeated by Ozan Baris & Garrett Johns in the semi-final in Tulsa 7-6(2), 6-3.

Joshua Goodger & Joe Tyler were defeated by Alafia Ayeni & Enzo Wallart in the first round in Los Angeles 7-6(1), 6-3.

Giacomo Revelli with Rudy Quan were defeated by Lui Maxted & Alexander Kotzen in the quarter-final in Los Angeles 6-2, 6-3.

Lui Maxted with Alexander Kotzen were defeated by Lorenzo Claverie & Nicholas Godsick in the semi-final in Los Angeles 6-3, 6-4.

Oliver Okonkwo with Perry Gregg were defeated by Preston Brown & Jody Maginley in the first round in South Bend 6-4, 7-6(4).

Bronte Murgett with Eva Siska were defeated by Salma Ewing & Maribella Zamarippa in the first round in Wichita 6-1, 6-2.

Tiffany William with Emma Lella were defeated by Reese Brantmeier & Maria Mateas in the quarter-final in Wichita 6-3, 7-6(3).
