NONTHABURI, THAILAND – Stuart Parker entered qualifying at the ATP Challenger and made the main draw. The Brit went on to lift the title.

Brit of the Week

After entering the qualifying Stuart Parker progressed through and made the main draw. The first round saw the Brit against Bu Yunchaokete. The Chinese player stayed close with Parker in the first set, eventually the Brit secured a break of serve and took the lead. The second set was even closer and looked to be heading to a tiebreak, however Parker once again managed to break serve and move into the next round 6-4, 7-5.

In the second round Parker was against Yshai Oliel. The Israeli started the first set better and broke the serve of the Brit to take the lead. The second set saw the Brit fight back and break Oliel and levelled up the match. The final set saw both players go toe to toe, before Parker broke serve again to take the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

The quarter-final saw Parker against fourth seed and fellow Brit Billy Harris. Parker and Harris stayed close at the start, however the qualifier managed to break serve and take the lead. The second set followed a very similar pattern with Parker breaking to take the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

In the semi-final the Brit was against Sho Shimabukuro. The Japanese stayed with Parker in the first set and forced a tiebreak. The Brit managed to take the breaker and move into the lead. The second set saw the Brit manage to break the serve of Shimabukuro and take the match in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.

The final saw the qualifier against Arthur Cazaux. The Frenchman stayed close to Parker in the first set, before the Brit managed to break serve and move ahead. The second set saw Parker dominate as Cazaux was struggling to keep up. Unfortunately Cazaux had to retire from the match, handing the win to Parker 6-4, 4-1 (RET).

Challenger & ITF Round Up

Charles Broom was defeated by Sho Shimabukuro in the first round in Nonthaburi 6-3, 6-2.

Jay Clarke was defeated by Laurent Lokoli in the first round in Cassis 6-3, 7-5.

Ryan Peniston was defeated by Francesco Maestrelli in the second round in Cassis 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.

Andra Sutherland was defeated by Suzan Lamens in the first round in Santarem 6-0, 6-1.

Yuriko Lily Miyazaki was defeated by Taylor Ng in the first round in Santarem 6-3, 6-2.

Katie Boulter was defeated by Francisca Jorge in the first round in Santarem 6-3, 6-3.

Harry Wendelken was defeated by Sun Fajing in the second round in Sintra 7-6(5), 7-5.

Arthur Fery was defeated by Duarte Vale in the quarter-final in Sintra 6-1, 7-6(4).

Joe Tyler was defeated by Victor Lilov in the first round in Cancun 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Blu Baker was defeated by Bernard Tomic in the quarter-final in Cancun 6-0, 6-2.

Luc Koenig was defeated by Viktor Jovic in the first round in Monastir 3-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Emilie Lindh was defeated by Alice Tubello in the first round in Saint-Palais-Sur-Mer 6-7(5), 7-5, 6-4.

Amanda Carreras was defeated by Carlota Martinez Cirez in the semi-final in Marbella 6-2, 6-4.
