TRNAVA, SLOVAKIA – Amelia Rajecki made the final of the ITF event. The Brit was unseeded and defeated three seeded players on route to the runner up spot.

Brit of the week

Amelia Rajecki entered the ITF event in Slovakia and was unseeded. In the first round the Brit was against Slovakian wildcard Dominika Pirohova. The Brit dominated from the outset. Pirohova was unable to get a game on the board and Rajecki eased through into the next round 6-0, 6-0.

The second round saw the Brit against the fifth seed Denisa Hindova. The Czech got off to the better start and broke the serve to take the lead. Rajecki re-grouped in the second set and dominated to level up the match. The final set, once again saw the Brit dominate and take the match 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

In the quarter-final Rajecki was against second seed Katarina Kuzmova. The Slovakian was clearly struggling from the start, as the Brit dominated. After claiming Rajecki claimed the first set, the second seed was unable to continue and retired from the match 6-2 (RET).

The semi-final saw the Brit against third seed Radka Zelnickova. Rajecki managed to break serve in the first set and took the lead. The second set was very very close. Neither player could get the vital break of serve, and a tiebreak ensued. In the breaker the Brit eased through and took the win 6-4, 7-6(3).

In the final Rajecki was against the top seed Nina Vargova. The Slovakian dominated the first set as the Brit struggled to stay with her. The second set, however, saw the Brit re-group and break the serve of Vargova to level up the match. The final set was close to start with as Rajecki stayed with the Slovak. Unfortunately, Vargova managed to break serve to take the title 6-1, 3-6, 6-3.

Summer Yardley was defeated by Natalia Krockova in the first round in Trnava 6-1, 6-2.

Jack Pinnington-Jones was defeated by Nishesh Basavareddy in the semi-final in Tiburon 6-2, 6-3.

Charles Broom was defeated by Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg in the first round in Mouilleron le Captif 6-3, 6-2.

Jan Choinski was defeated by Cristian Garin in the first round in Braga 6-2, 6-7(5), 6-1.

Mattias Southcombe was defeated by Bharath Nishok Kumaran in the first round in Kigali 6-1, 6-3.

Jay Clarke was defeated by Andrea Guerrieri in the first round in Santa Margherita di Pula 5-7, 7-6(6), 6-0.

Alice Gillan was defeated by Ku Yeonwoo in the first round in Baza 6-0, 0-6, 6-2.

James MacKinley was defeated by Louis Dussin in the first round in Nevers 6-2, 6-2.

Ella McDonald was defeated by Barbora Palicova in the first round in Reims 6-3, 7-6(5).

Sarah Beth Grey was defeated by Celine Naef in the first round in Reims 6-4, 6-1.

Mingge Xu was defeated by Margaux Rouvroy in the second round in Reims 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.

Amarni Banks was defeated by Julia Avdeeva in the quarter-final in Reims 6-4, 6-4.

Viktor Frydych was defeated by Yurii Dzhavakian in the first round in Sharm-El-Sheikh 6-3, 6-3.

Joe Leather was defeated by Luca Castagnola in the first round in Sharm-El-Sheikh 7-6(0), 7-5.

Luke Hopper was defeated by Nino Ehrenscheider in the first round in Sharm-El-Sheikh 7-6(6), 6-3.

Matthew Summers was defeated by Marek Gengel in the second round in Sharm-El-Sheikh 6-4, 6-2.

James Story was defeated by Robert Strombachs in the semi-final in Sharm-El-Sheikh 7-6(8)m 6-4.

Marcus Walters was defeated by Jasza Szajrych in the first round in Grodzisk Mazowiecki 4-6, 6-2, 6-1.

Luke Simkiss was defeated by Ollie Wallin in the second round in Grodzisk Mazowiecki 6-2, 6-2.

Harry Wendelken was defeated by Michael Agwi in the final in Grodzisk Mazowiecki 6-0, 6-1.

Lois Newberry was defeated by Tanisha Kashyap in the first round in Monastir 4-6, 6-3, 6-1.

Isabelle Lacy was defeated by Daria Frayman in the first round in Monastir 6-0, 6-1.

Lauryn John-Baptiste was defeated by Daria Frayman in the second round in Monastir 7-6(2), 6-4.

Ciara Moore was defeated by Sofia Elena Cabezas Dominguez in the second round in Monastir 6-3, 6-1.

Tara Moore was defeated by Usue Maitane Arconada in the first round in Redding 7-6(8), 2-1(RET).
