Oscar Weightman came through qualifying in Monastir to make the main draw. The Brit won the qualifying matches in straight sets against seeded opposition. Having made the main draw Weightman was against Uladzislau Zhuk. The Belarussian had been given a wildcard into the event, but the Brit soon had the match under control. Weightman totally dominated Zhuk and lost only two games to move into the second round very quickly 6-1, 6-1.
The second round saw the Brit up against third seed Daniel Michalski. The Polish player got off to a bad start as Weightman secured the break of serve in the first set to take the lead. In the second set Michalski fought back and pushed the Brit hard. The Pole managed to get the break and level up the match. In the final set the Brit once again secured the break needed and moved into the quarter-final 6-4, 5-7, 6-4.
In the quarter-final the Brit was against the eighth seed Fermin Tenti. The Argentine took the early break in both sets, and no matter what Weightman tried he was unable to get back in the match. Tenti managed to stop the Brit from progressing further in the event taking the match 6-4, 6-3.
