The second round saw the Brit against Katrina Scott. Swan managed to break serve early in the first set to take the lead. The second set was much tighter as the American fought back. In the quarter-final Swan was against Taylor Ng. The Brit dominated the match from the outset. The first set saw the American manage to hold serve twice, before the Brit had the set under control. The semi-final pitched the Brit against Marcela Zacarias. The Mexican was no match for Swan in the first set, as the Brit once again dominated to take the lead. The second set was much closer as Zacarias forced a tiebreak. However, Swan was equal to this and dominated the breaker to take the match 6-2, 7-6(2).
In the final Swan was against the second seed Jodie Burrage. The first set saw Swan dominate and not lose a game to get the lead. However, Burrage re-grouped in the second set and broke the serve of Swan to level the match back up. In the quarter-final Monday was against the second seed Jaimee Floyd Angele. The Frenchman was unable to get a handle on the Brits game. Monday however, broke early in the set to take the lead. The second set followed much the same pattern. No matter what the second seed tried, the Brit was equal to it. Taking the match in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
The semi-final saw the Brit against fourth seed Makoto Ochi. The Japanese player found Monday too strong in the first set, as the Brit broke early to take the lead. The second set was a little closer, however, Monday still managed to break the serve of Ochi and move into the final in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
In the final Monday was against the top seed Ezekiel Clark. The American was favourite for the match, and was in front of an American crowd. This didn’t matter for Monday.
