WACO, TEXAS, USA – Johannus Monday reached the semi-final of the ITF event in Waco. The unseeded Brit defeated the second seed along the way.

Brit of the Week
Johannus Monday entered the ITF event in Waco, Texas. The Brit was unseeded. The Yorkshireman drew Canadian qualifier Cleeve Harper in the first round. In the first set Monday and Harper went toe to toe early on, but the Brit managed to break the Canadian serve and take the lead. The second set saw Harper break Monday and level up the match. In the final set the young Brit fought hard, and broke serve to seal the win and move into the next round 6-3, 4-6, 6-4.
The second round saw Monday against the eighth seed American Joshua Sheehy. The Yorkshireman and Sheehy stayed close in the first set. Neither player giving an inch. The set looked to be heading to a tiebreak, however the Brit managed to break the seeds serve and take the lead. The second set was even closer. Monday and the American couldn’t get ahead, the set went to a tiebreak. In the breaker it was the Brit who managed to edge ahead and book a spot in the next round 7-5, 7-6(4).
In the quarter-final the Brit was against second seed American Ezekiel Clark. Both sets were hard fought. Neither player was able to get a break of serve. In the first set tiebreak Monday managed to edge ahead and take the lead. The second set was much the same, as Clark and the Brit battled to get ahead. In the ensuing breaker, once again it was the Brit that edged ahead and moved into the semi-final 7-6(4), 7-6(4).
The semi-final saw Monday against Australian qualifier Adam Walton. Walton had scythed through the field to reach this stage and had not dropped a set. Walton secured a break of serve against the Brit in the first set to take the lead. The second set saw the Aussie dominate Monday who struggled to hold serve. Walton moved into the final 6-3, 6-2.

Luc Koenig was defeated by Li Tu in the first round in Waco 6-4, 7-6(3).
Alice Gillan was defeated by Katie Codd in the second round in Fountain Valley 6-4, 6-3.
Aidan McHugh was defeated by James Duckworth in the quarter-final in Porto 7-6, 6-0.
Billy Harris was defeated by Daniel Dutra Da Silva in the first round in Todi 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.
Giles Hussey was defeated by Clement Chidekh in the first round in Ajaccio 6-0, 6-2.
Sizya Ernest Kivanda was defeated by Robin Catry in the first round in Ajaccio 6-1, 6-2.
Dan Little was defeated by Raphael Lambling in the first round in Ajaccio 3-6, 6-4, 6-0.
Oscar Weightman was defeated by Calvin Hemry in the first round in Ajaccio 7-5, 6-1.
Harry Wendelken was defeated by Francesco Forti in the first round in Casinalbo 6-4, 6-3.
Louis Allen was defeated by Bekhan Atlangeriev in the first round in Monastir 6-2, 6-2.
Sarah Beth Grey was defeated by Zhu Lin in the first round in Corroios-Seixal 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
