VITORIA-GASTEIZ, SPAIN – Eden Silva entered the ITF event and was unseeded. The Brit made the quarter-final before being defeated.

Brit of the Week
Eden Silva entered the ITF event in Spain and was unseeded. In the first round the Brit was against the second seed Cristina Bucsa. The Spaniard dominated the first set as Silva struggled to hold serve. Bucsa took the lead. Silva re-grouped in the second set and managed to break the serve of the Spaniard and levelled up the match. The third set saw the Brit stay with Bucsa and eventually break serve to take the match and move into the next round 2-6, 6-4, 6-4.
In the second round Silva was against Lucia Cortez Llorca. The wildcard entrant was no match for the Brit who dominated the first set. The second set was a little closer as the Spaniard tried to fight back. However, Silva kept the pressure up and took the win in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
The quarter-final saw Silva against Alexandra Eala. The Brit was outplayed by Eala in both sets. No matter what the Brit tried Eala was equal to it. The Filipino dominated Silva as the Brit struggled to hold serve. The Brit found Eala way too strong and it was the Filipino who moved on in straight sets 6-1, 6-1.
