BRAUNSWEIG, GERMANY – Jan Choinski entered the ATP event and was unseeded. The Brit made the quarter-final before being defeated.

Jan Choinski entered the ATP main tour event in Germany and was unseeded. The Brit drew the second seed Alex Molcan in the first round. The Slovakian dominated the Brit in the first set and took the lead. Choinski re-grouped in the second set, breaking Molcan to level up the match. The final set was very close, in fact, neither player gave an inch and a tiebreak followed. Choinski took the tiebreak and moved into the next round 2-6, 6-3, 7-6.

In the second round Choinski was against Pierre-Hugues Herbert. The Frenchman stayed with the Brit in the first set, forcing a tiebreak. Herbert took the breaker and the lead. The second set saw Choinski break serve and level up the match. The final set was another tiebreak which the Brit took to move into the next round 6-7, 6-4, 7-6.

The quarter-final saw the Brit against fifth seed Pavel Kotov. Choinski stayed with the seed in the first set, forcing a tiebreak. The Brit took the breaker and moved into the lead. Kotov re-grouped in the second set and broke Choinski to level up the match. The final set saw Kotov dominate the Brit and progress 6-7, 6-3, 6-2.

 

 

Challenger, ITF & Doubles Round Up

Felix Gill was defeated by Imanol Lopez Morillo in the quarter-final in Roda de Bara 6-4, 6-3.

Jasmine Conway was defeated by Polina Iatcenko in the first round in Don Benito 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Aryana Bartlett was defeated by Maria Berlanga Bandera in the first round in Don Benito 7-5, 7-5.

Iman Khan was defeated by Zeynep Sonmez in the second round in Don Benito 6-1, 6-3.

Soumeya Anane with Michika Ozeki were defeated by Maria Fernanda Herazo Gonzalez & Anastasia Iamachkine in the quarter-final in Don Benito 6-3, 6-7, 10-6.

Giacomo Revelli was defeated by Andre Ilagan in the first round in Lakewood 6-2, 6-2.

Lui Maxted with Alexander Kotzen were defeated by Isaac Nortey & Jared Thompkins in the quarter-final in Lakewood 6-7, 7-6, 10-8.

Giacomo Revelli with Stefan Menichella were defeated by Jack Anthrop & Bryce Nakashima Nakashima in the quarter-final in Lakewood 6-2, 6-4.

Katy Dunne was defeated by Anastasia Zakharova in the quarter-final in Corroios-Seixal 6-1, 5-7, 6-3.

Madeleine Brooks & Holly Hutchinson were defeated by Francisca Jorge & Matilde Jorge in the quarter-final in Corroios-Seixal 6-0, 7-5.

Abigail Amos was defeated by Alexandra Iordache in the first round in Monastir 6-3, 6-4.

Abigail Amos with Arabella Koller were defeated by Beverley Nyangon & Angella Okutoyi in the quarter-final in Monastir 6-2, 6-1.

Charlotte Russell with Lahari Yelamanchilli were defeated by Raquel Gonzalez Vilar & Sofia Camila Rojas in the quarter-final in Monastir 5-7, 6-3, 10-7.

Next week Brits play in Newport, Amersfoort, Pozoblanco, Roehampton, USA, Spain, Portugal, France & Tunisia.
