SUTTON, SURREY, UK – The British Tour event saw a great field enter. Sean Hodkin claimed the singles title without dropping a set. Alicia Dudeney took the women’s title. Sally Pethybridge took both doubles titles.

Sean Hodkin entered the British Tour event and was the fourth seed. In the first round Hodkin was against unseeded Matthew Howse. Hodkin and Howse stayed toe to toe at the start, however, the fourth seed was able to break serve and take the lead. The second set saw Hodkin dominate and break at will to move into the next round 6-3, 6-1.
In the second round Hodkin was against Luke Quaynor. The seed and Quaynor stayed close at the beginning of the first set, however, Hodkin was able to secure a break of serve to move ahead. The second set saw Quaynor struggling and unfortunately had to retire from the match, sending the fourth seed into the quarter-final in straight sets 6-3, 3-0(RET)
The quarter-final saw Hodkin against Zak Radziwillowicz. The 17 year-old was no match for the fourth seed who dominated the match from the start. Radziwillowicz just could not get a handle on Hodkin and was soon a set down. The second set saw the fourth seed breaking every game, and moved into the semi-final 6-2, 6-0.
In the semi-final Hodkin was against the sixth seed Jack Gibbens. The first set saw Hodkin dominate Gibbens, who was unable to get onto the fourth seeds game. The second set was a little closer, as Gibbens stayed with the fourth seed at the start, however, Hodkin secured the break to take the match and move into the final in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.
The final saw Hodkin against unseeded Louis Bowden. The youngster stayed with the seed in the first set, until Hodkin managed to secure the vital break of serve and move into the lead. The second set was dominated by the seed who didn’t put a foot wrong as he claimed the title 6-4, 6-0.
Ladies Event
Alicia Dudeney was the third seed. The first round Dudeney was against Millie Day. The seed dominated the match from start to finish. No matter what Day tried, they were unable to get anything on the serve of Dudeney. The seed eased through the match without losing a game 6-0, 6-0.
The second round saw Dudeney was against Olivia Rook. Just as in the first round the third seed dominated the entire match from start to finish. Dudeney was untroubled by Cook who was unable to get anywhere near the seeds game. Dudeney moved into the next round 6-0, 6-0.
In the quarter-final Dudeney was due to be against the fourth seed Anna Popescu. Unfortunately, Popescu was unable to take to the court and handed a walkover to the third seed who, as a result moved into the semi-final 0- (RET).
The semi-final pitched Dudeney against the top seed Lauren Proctor. The pair went toe to toe in the first set, and neither player was able to break serve. The set went to a tiebreak. Dudeney took the breaker and the lead. In the second set, Dudeney dominated the top seed to move into the final in straight sets 7-6, 6-0.
In the final Dudeney was against the sixth seed Amelia Rajecki. The sixth seed got the better start and dominated the set and took the lead. Dudeney regrouped in the second set, and managed to break serve to level up the match. The final set saw Rajecki & Dudeney stay close, but eventually, the third seed broke serve to take the title 2-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Women’s Doubles
Sally Pethybridge & Danielle Hack were the third seeds. In the first round the seeds were drawn against Phoebe-Mireille Ecuyer-Dale & Emma Sawkins. The seeds dominated the match from start to finish and lost only one game to move into the next round 6-1, 6-0.
The quarter-final saw Pethybridge & Hack were against Katie Dyson & Jizel Matos-Sequeira Fernandes. The seeds were pushed hard in the first set. Dyson & Matos-Sequeira Fernandes forced a tiebreak, which the seeds managed to take and secure the lead. The second set saw the seeds dominate and break several times to move into the semi-final 7-6, 6-1.
In the semi-final the third seeds were against the second seeds Alicia Dudeney & Olivia Rook. Both sets were close, the first set looked to be heading to a tiebreak, but Pethybridge & Hack broke serve right at the end of the set to take the lead. The second set was very much the same, but this time it did go to a tiebreak which the third seeds took and moved into the final 7-5, 7-6.
The final saw the seeds against unseeded pair Francesca Davis & Paulina Jurkowska. Pethybridge & Hack dominated the first set and took the lead. The second set saw Davis & Jurkowska try to fight back, but the seeds managed to break serve and took the title 6-1, 6-3.
Men’s Doubles
Alexander Jhun & Brandon Murphy were the top seeds. In the first round the top seeds were against Thomas Drayton & Joel Pierleoni. The first set was very close, as Drayton & Pierleoni stayed with Jhun & Murphy. Eventually, the top seeds secured the break of serve and took the set. The second set followed a similar pattern with the seeds breaking serve and moving into the next round 6-4, 6-3.
The quarter-final saw the top seeds against Sam Bird & Callum Rendle. Jhun & Murphy managed to break serve early in the set to take the lead. The second set was similar with Bird & Rendle trying to get back into the match. However, the seeds broke and moved into the next round in straight sets 6-3, 6-3.
In the semi-final the top seeds were due to face Victor Paganetti & Maximillian Relic. However, Jhun & Murphy moved into the final without having to hit a ball in anger. Paganetti & Relic didn’t take to the court, handing the win to top seeds 0-0 (RET).
The final saw the top seeds against Sean Hodkin & Adam Jones. The unseeded pair managed to break serve of Jhun & Murphy to take the lead. However, the top seeds regrouped in the second set and broke serve of Hodkin & Jones to level the match. The ensuing match tiebreak was very close, however the top seeds secured the break and took the title 5-7, 6-3, 11-9.
Mixed Doubles
Pethybridge & Billy Blaydes paired up for the mixed doubles. Their first opponents were Aaron Jinks & Tabitha Holmes. Pethybridge & Blaydes dominated the first set as Jinks & Holmes struggled to get into the game. The second set was a little closer, but eventually Pethybridge & Blaydes broke serve to move into the next round 6-1, 6-4.
In the semi-final Pethybridge & Blaydes were against the second seeds Benjamin Clark & Danielle Hack. The first set was very close, as the unseeded pair stayed with the seeds. Right at the end of the set Pethybridge & Blaydes broke serve to take the set. The second set was dominated by the unseeded pair and they moved into the final in straight sets 7-5, 6-2.
The final saw Pethybridge & Blaydes against Matthew Howse & Lauren Prince. The match was dominated from the outset by Pethybridge & Blaydes. No matter what Howse & Prince tried they were unable to get anything onto the game of Pethybridge & Blaydes, who lifted the title 6-2, 6-2.

Aimee Broomfield was defeated by Ciara Moore in the first round 4-0 (RET).
Amy Leather was defeated by Lauren Proctor in the first round 6-0, 3-2 (RET).
Chloe Elliott was defeated by Tia Bonita Jakupovic-Kljako in the first round 6-1, 6-1.
Louis Quaynor was defeated by Zak Radziwillowica in the first round 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Lauren Bishop was defeated by Sally Pethybridge in the first round 6-3, 6-1.
Ryan Storrie was defeated by Joel Pierleoni in the first round 3-6, 7-5, 7-6.
