Playing Styles & Prediction

Burrage contemplated retiring from the sport after endless injuries during her career, and it would be great for her to get a consistent run a season for once. It would also be good to get the chances to test herself against the best players on the tour – which is what she will get here.

Gauff’s athleticism, big serve and easy power from the back of the court is more than a match for Burrage, but it a great opportunity for the Brit to enjoy one of the biggest stages of the world.

The pair have met once, in Eastbourne, where Gauff was ruthless in her execution, and expect it to be a similar story here.

Prediction: Gauff in straight sets.
