Playing styles and prediction

Pablo Varillas broke through at Roland Garros, where he reached the fourth round and is a player that will give the opposition nothing in terms of errors. The Peruvian is looking to continue his consistency in 2024 on both Challenger and main tour as he aims for more regular appearances at Grand Slams.

Norrie will need to serve aggressively as he aims to use his forehand in order to make Pablo Varillas uncomfortable and will also need to add in variety. Meanwhile Pablo Varillas will use depth from the baseline to force errors from Norrie’s game as he looks to play with freedom and confidence. This could be an awkward match for Norrie but a match that he should win.

Prediction: Norrie in four sets.
