Playing styles and prediction
Polmans enters in Zhuhai in good form having reached the final in the Guangzhou Challenger before failing to drop a set in qualifying. The Australian has an effective and consistent serve that allows him to be attacking and make charges towards the net as he looks to take advantage of Norrie’s lack of confidence.
Norrie will need to be aggressive on return as he looks to use depth and pace to mix up the speed of the rallies and force unforced errors from the Australian. Meanwhile Polmans will look to maintain a high percentage of first serves as he aims to come to the net to put Norrie under pressure. This will be another test to see where Norrie’s confidence is at and although this will be an awkward match, the Brit should edge to victory.
