Cameron Norrie [1] v Maxime Cressy H2H: First Meeting

It has taken Cameron Norrie a little time to find his feet this grass court season, and took his game to Brandon Nakashima effectively, drawing error upon error from the American. It is another American coming up for him, in Maxime Cressy, who beat Dan Evans to reach the quarter-final.

It will be a first meeting between the pair, and the heavy serving from Cressy will be a useful change-up for Norrie to face, as Cressy advances past the opening round for the first time this season on grass.

Norrie really needs a solid run here and has already surpassed his best results at Eastbourne and will start as the favourite but suspect that Cressy’s big serve and net game will test him.

Prediction: Norrie in three sets.

Petra Kvitova ended Katie Boulter’s amazing grass court run and could well dispatch her second Brit in a row, when she faces wildcard Harriet Dart. Certainly, if she wastes her chances as she did in the first set against Dart, she could find herself in trouble.

The fan-favourite and two-time Wimbledon champion has struggled for form although it is worth noting that both times she reached the Eastbourne quarter-finals, she went on to win the title!

Dart had to win her suspended singles match and the doubles yesterday as she reaches her second quarter-final this grass court season. Experience on this surface is key and there is no denying Kvitova has that. She has the fire, if her reactions to missed shots yesterday was anything to go by, and she can make this very hard for the Czech,

Prediction: Kvitova in three sets.

Jack Draper was impressive against Diego Schwartzman but is in a holding pattern as Ryan Peniston will have to come back and complete his match against Pedro Martinez, which was halted in the deciding set.
