Playing styles and prediction

Vukic has had a poor season by his standards even if he has shown moments of promise and potential. The Australian will hope to turn his fortunes around ahead of the US Open as he aims to avoid a drop down the rankings which would see him outside the world’s top 100.

Evans will need to be aggressive on serve as he will use the slice to force shorter balls from Vukic. Meanwhile the Australian will look to take advantage of Evans’ short second serves as he will aim to finish points off at the net. This will be a tough match for Evans which will require more consistency on serve if he wants to have any chance of winning.

Prediction: Vukic in three sets.
