Playing styles and prediction

Alcaraz would have been disappointed with his early exit to Murray but the Spaniard is still growing as a player. The big-hitting style of Alcaraz has left many opponents struggling for answers and there is no doubt that Evans may face similar problems in Vienna.

However Alcaraz will be tested against the vicious and unique slice of the Brit with that being one of the keys to neutralising the Spaniard’s consistent aggression. Evans has been inconsistent too many times during matches and he will need to start quickly here if he wants to have a chance of making it past the opening round.

Prediction: Alcaraz in three sets.
