Playing styles and prediction

After a good tournament at the US Open where he reached the quarter-finals, Fritz struggled in Shanghai falling to a three set defeat to Diego Schwartzman. Now the American will look to improve his form at the place where he won the title last year as he has a place in the ATP Finals in his sights.

Norrie will look to aggressive on serve as well as using depth and power to gain consistency on the forehand as he looks to put Fritz’s baseline game to the test. Meanwhile Fritz looks to use his power and serving accuracy to test Norrie’s returning confidence as he aims to produce passive shot-making from the Brit. The performance is the most important thing for Norrie as he looks to build morale heading into next season.

Prediction: Fritz in straight sets.
