Playing styles and prediction

Since his run to the fourth round at Roland Garros, Moutet has endured a rough patch of form which has halted his bid for a place in the world’s top 50. The Frenchman will hope he can have a successful last few weeks of the season as he continues to play electric yet erratic tennis.

Fearnley will continue to produce consistent tennis as he aims to shorten points up at the net. Meanwhile Moutet will use the backhand to make Fearnley move around the court as he aims to force errors from the Brit’s game. This is a big opportunity for Fearnley to display talent and confidence against an out of sorts opponent as he looks to secure a place in the main draw of the Australian Open.

Prediction: Fearnley in three sets.
