Playing Styles and Prediction
Marterer enters Sofia in good form having reached the semi-finals in Antwerp before reaching the final at the Ismaning Challenger. The German has a big game from the baseline and will now look to progress further inside the world’s top 100 as he looks to continue his recent run of results.
Draper will look to continue to be aggressive and proactive on return while being dominant and consistent on serve. Meanwhile Marterer will look to use depth to neutralise Draper’s power as the German looks to be as aggressive as possible. This will be a match that will be determined by whoever can get the first strike of attack in and who can dominate on serve more consistently. This will be a good test for Draper but one he should just about win given his current level of confidence.
