Playing styles and prediction
Wolf’s form has dipped in recent weeks since reaching the semi-finals in Atlanta as the American is on the verge of ending the season in the world’s top 50. Now Wolf will look to use his big serve and forehand in order to take advantage of the faster courts in Shanghai and add further question marks over Norrie’s form.
Norrie will look to be more aggressive on the backhand and will aim to be less predictable on the forehand as the return will be the key to victory for the Brit. Meanwhile Wolf will look to accelerate the speed of the rallies with the forehand as he looks for depth to ensure Norrie is more passive from the baseline. This will be a tough match for Norrie as a win is needed for both players given their recent form.
