Playing styles and prediction

Raonic has only played a handful of tournaments this season but the Canadian loves this time of year as he showed in S-Hertogenbosch when he reached the quarter-finals. Now the former finalist will aim to prove class is permanent as he continues to build momentum towards Wimbledon.

Norrie will need to be aggressive on serve as he will use the angles to test Raonic’s movement as the Canadian’s fitness can be vulnerable at times. Meanwhile Raonic will dictate the play on first serve as he will neutralize Norrie’s depth with forehand power. This is a must-win match for Norrie but the Brit’s lack of confidence suggests he will once again struggle on return.

Prediction: Raonic in three sets.
