After a disappointing season, this is set to be Simon’s final tournament as professional tennis player after long career of consistency at the top of the game. The Frenchman’s grinding baseline style will have one final opportunity to frustrate an opponent that he has had many battles with in the past.

Murray will look to be solid from the baseline and produce a good serving performance with Simon looking to extend the rallies as much as possible as well as forcing the errors from the Brit. The crowd will be pulling for Simon to have one last success on a tennis court but if Murray remains focused on the task then he should have enough to win this match.

Prediction: Murray in straight sets.
