Playing styles and prediction

Nakashima has shown good form in the second half of the season, winning a title in San Diego and testing Stan Wawrinka at his home tournament in Basel. Now the American will look to finish the season on a high, using his effective serve as a platform for a good performance.

Evans will look to continue to break as much as possible using clever returning and ensuring he constructs the points as effectively as possible. Nakashima will have to be precise on serve and ensure that he has a high first serve percentage if he wants to have any chance of winning this match. This should be a great match given both players’ form with a slight advantage going to Evans as he is the more clinical player heading into this match.

Prediction: Evans in three sets.
