MONTREAL, CANADA – After experiencing his maiden Olympics, Jack Draper now turns his attention to the North American hard court season as he takes on Jordan Thompson in his Montreal opener.

Playing Styles and Prediction

Thompson has had a good season so far with his biggest achievement being his ATP 250 title in Los Cabos. However, since that week in Mexico Thompson has struggled for consistency and form. After two good weeks in America, Thompson will look to continue his big serving and tidy volleying as he aims for a seeding spot at the US Open.

Draper will look to take the ball early on the forehand as he will use depth to pin Thompson behind the baseline. Meanwhile, Thompson will need to be aggressive as he looks to approach the net to finish off points early. This will be a tough tussle but if Draper can be dynamic with his shot-making then he should be able to win this match.

Prediction: Draper in three sets.
