Playing styles and prediction

After a tough start to the year, Nakashima improved his level at Wimbledon where he forced finalist Nick Kyrgios to five sets. However no ranking points at Wimbledon and failing to defend final points in Atlanta has seen the American’s ranking drop down outside the world’s top 50 and he will look to recover his ranking over the next couple of weeks.

Norrie will look to continue his dominance on serve with his consistency from the baseline being the key to success in this match. Nakashima will look to counter-attack the Brit’s attack with speed and depth while Norrie will look to use his power on the backhand to open up angles into the open court. The Brit should continue his good form but it won’t be an easy match given Nakashima’s resurgence in recent weeks.

Prediction: Norrie in three sets.
