Draper has been the more effective player on serve this season but the Brit will need to be wary of Gaston’s efficiency on return.
Playing Styles and Prediction
Despite some good wins over John Isner and Alex De Minaur this season, Gaston has struggled for consistency and deep runs at tournaments at ATP level. The Frenchman has some big points to defend in Paris at the end of the year and will look to pick up big ranking points over this US hard court season before heading to the French capital.
Draper will look to be aggressive and put Gaston’s defensive skills to test and apply early pressure. While the Frenchman will look to serve well and create angles to open up the court. Should Draper handle the heat and humidity well then he should come through this match but it will be far from an easy match.
