Playing styles and prediction

Khachanov had a decent start to the season after reaching the fourth round at the Australian Open which was followed up by winning the title in Doha. Since that title in February, Khachanov has struggled to achieve consistent form as the world number 17 is aiming to put a poor sunshine double swing behind him and focus on the clay court season.

Norrie will search for a mixture of variety and aggression to force Khachanov behind the baseline as the Brit looks to open up the angles on the court. Meanwhile Khachanov will look to use his forehand to force Norrie into playing the shorter ball as he aims for efficient winners on the backhand side. This will be a competitive match with both players hoping for an improvement in form. In the end Norrie should prevail as he will hope for a positive clay court swing.

Prediction: Norrie in three sets.
