Playing styles and prediction

Since winning the Cordoba title in February, Ramos-Vinolas has struggled to record wins consistently. However the Spaniard’s run to the final in 2017 proved that he can be a danger to any player on this surface and is one of those clay courters that knows how to grind out wins.

Norrie will need to remain consistent and serve well in this match to have a chance as well as constructing points effectively when on the attack. The Spaniard has won all three meetings against Norrie on clay and will be confident that his baseline game can match-up well to the Brit here. It should be a tough test but Norrie’s game has matured over the last year and expect him to endure this tough opening round match.

Prediction: Norrie in three sets.
