Playing Styles and Prediction
Since reaching the final in Auckland earlier this year, Daniel has only won two matches on tour with one of them being a retirement. When the world number 78’s game is on then he is one of the trickiest players to play against but when he lacks confidence then he could lose to any player on his day. Now Daniel aims to build confidence in Miami ahead of the clay court swing.
Draper will aim to be aggressive on serve and use his forehand to force Daniel behind the baseline allowing the Brit to add variety to his game. Meanwhile Daniel will need to be consistent on serve, which will allow him to play with freedom on return. This should be a comfortable win for Draper given Daniel’s lack of confidence right now.
