LOS CABOS, MEXICO – Cameron Norrie is aiming to turn his season around in Los Cabos this week and first up for the former champion is Aleksandar Kovacevic.

Norrie dominates most of the statistics heading into this match but will know that he can’t afford to be complacent especially with recent results not going his way this season.

 

 

Playing styles and prediction

After a superb start to the season on the Challenger tour, Kovacevic has endured a torrid last few months having only ended his nine match losing streak at Wimbledon. Now the American will look to bounce back this week as he searches for some confidence heading into the US Open.

Norrie will look to be consistent throughout the match as he looks to use depth on the forehand while accelerating the pace of the rallies on the backhand side. Meanwhile Kovacevic will look to maintain a high first serve percentage in order to make it difficult for Norrie to neutralise the American’s power. Barring a bad day at the office, Norrie should get the job done as tougher tests await later on in the tournament.

Prediction: Norrie in straight sets.
