INDIAN WELLS, CALIFORNIA USA – Cameron Norrie looks to go one better than his debut here last year as he takes on Canadian wildcard Felix Auger-Aliassime.

British No. 2 Cameron Norrie has been enjoying a bit of a solid run of form as he comes into Indian Wells, and after reaching his first ATP Tour 500 semi-final, his chances of bettering his debut last year of the first round seems high.
Standing in his way is Canadian wildcard Felix Auger-Aliassime. Another of the great crop of young Canadians coming through. Auger-Aliassime actually had a better time of things on the Latin American ‘Golden’ clay court swing with a thrilling culmination of the Rio de Janeiro final, so while he might be here in a wildcard, he is not to be underestimated.
The Canadian smacks a big ball with the ability to create some crazy angles from a wrist-snapping forehand that can be hard to read – but with that style, we can see errors mount up and that is where Norrie’s steadiness and big-match temperament comes into its own.
Auger-Aliassime might be able to utilise his height to pick up a few free points on his serve, while Norrie is perhaps a little more functional in this aspect, but experience and consistency should stand the Brit in good stead when he kicks off proceedings on Thursday.
Prediction: Norrie in straight sets
Norrie and Auger-Aliassime are scheduled on Stadium 1 at 11am (7pmGMT)
