Murray dominates most of the statistics against the inconsistent Frenchman but will need to win more points from the second serve return to ensure victory.
Playing styles and prediction
Mannarino has had another inconsistent season having won back to back matches at the Australian Open and the grass courts of Mallorca. However the Frenchman’s laid back and semi-aggressive style can cause problems for many on the tour, just ask Roger Federer at Wimbledon this year.
Tactically this is a fairly comfortable match for Murray with his ability to be aggressive and making uncomfortable returns seeing him to prevail here. However the Brit will still need to be wary of the Mannarino backhand which can produce winners at any moment.
