H2H: Liam Broady (WR 108) Pedro Cachin (WR 70)
Tournament Previous Best N/A N/A
1st Serve % 55.6 62.4

Break Points Saved % 57.3 56
2nd Serve Return Points Won % 52.8 47.2
Break Points Converted % 44.1 40.8

Broady will look to improve his consistency on the first serve although the early signs suggest that the Brit will have no such problem with his consistency and efficiency on return this season.

Playing styles and prediction

Cachin had a decent 2023 season with his season highlight being his title in Gstaad in July. However Cachin enters the 2024 season on a four match losing streak including losing matches to players who are ranked outside the world’s top 300. The Argentinian will now look to turn his fortunes around as he aims for a place in the world’s top 50 this season.

Broady will look to raise his level of consistency on serve by using a mixture of depth and pace as well as maintain aggression on return. Cachin will look to frustrate Broady by always looking to make one more ball into play as well as maintaining a high first serve percentage. This will be a tricky opening test for Broady and one that will test his ability to be patience as he will look to limit his unforced error count.

Prediction: Broady in three sets.
