Playing styles and prediction

After reaching a Masters 1000 final years ago, Lajovic has fallen off recently and now finds himself outside the world’s top 100. The Serb has performed at Challenger level recently and will hope to use his clay court prowess to his advantage as he will look to boost his ranking with a deep run this week.

Fearnley will be aggressive on serve, using depth to suffocate Lajovic’s baseline game. Meanwhile Lajovic will aim to be attacking on return, taking the ball early to limit Fearnley’s options and rushing his game. This will be a good clay court test for Fearnley but the Brit should prevail as long as he can be aggressive in the important moments.

Prediction: Fearnley in three sets.
