Playing styles and prediction

Fonseca is a talented youngster with the Brazilian winning the Boys singles at the US Open last year. The 17 year-old has already practiced with Novak Djokovic and heads into this week’s event in Portugal having reached the final at the Asuncion Challenger. Now Fonseca will look to build on his ranking of 288 in the world as he hopes to achieve big things in the sport.

Choinski will aim to be proactive on serve as he looks for depth in order to approach the net and stamp his authority on the match. Meanwhile Fonseca will hope to produce big groundstrokes from the baseline and capitalize on any weak second serves from Choinski. This will be a big test for Choinski and one that could prove too much with Fonseca having the slightly more consistent game on clay especially in the longer rallies.

Prediction: Fonseca in three sets.
