Brandon Nakashima [WC] def. Cameron Norrie 7-5 6-2
Cameron Norrie won just 54% of his first-serve points in his 7-5 6-2 defeat to local wildcard Brandon Nakashima, who claimed a berth in the quarter-finals on his first Tour-level main draw appearance.
The American teenager won six out of eight close games throughout the match. He faced just a couple of breakpoints while the British left-hander lost his serve four times at the end of a disappointing performance. Nakashima, who sealed 67% of his second-serve points, will meet Japanese Yoshihito Nishioka in a surprising quarter-finals clash at the Delray Beach Open.

The 18-year-old, who reached his career-high ranking of No. 294 on 17 February and his set to drastically improve it next week, made the round 16 at ATP Challenger Tour events at Ann Arbor and Dallas earlier this season. He also won an ITF World Tennis Tour title at Rancho Santa Fe.
Norre suffered his second straight second-round exit. Owning a 4-6 win-loss record this year, he is expected to play qualifying at the ATP 500 in Acapulco next week alongside fellow Brit Kyle Edmund.
