CINCINNATI, USA – After suffering a straight sets defeat to Felix Auger-Aliassime in Canada, Cameron Norrie will look to bounce back ahead of the US Open as he takes on Holger Rune in his opening match in Cincinnati.

Playing styles and prediction

After a great clay court season and achieving his breakthrough at Roland Garros, Rune has disappointed on both clay and hard courts in recent weeks. The young Dane will look to continue his development over the next couple of weeks as he looks to climb higher up the rankings as the season approaches.

Norrie will look to use his variety to force errors out of Rune as well as be aggressive with his shot-making to test Rune’s confidence. Meanwhile the Dane looks to use his big forehand and impressive footwork to test Norrie’s defensive skillset. This will be a good match for Norrie to improve his overall game before the US Open however the ninth seed’s confidence and form should prove too much for an out-of-sorts Rune.

Prediction: Norrie in straight sets.
