Playing styles and prediction

Wawrinka hasn’t had the successful return to the tour as he was hoping for and despite gaining some momentum in Rome, hasn’t been able to win matches at the big events since then. Now Wawrinka will look to continue his journey back into the latter stages of tournaments as he looks to take some positives into the rest of this season.

Murray will look to be as aggressive as possible and put Wawrinka on the back foot and test the former US Open champion’s fitness. Meanwhile Wawrinka will need to make as many winners as possible in order to deny Murray the chance to dictate the tempo of the match from the baseline. The serve will be the key to the match and errors are expected from both players but in the end Murray’s better form should edge him towards victory here.

Prediction: Murray in three sets.
