Paul Jubb entered the ITF event in Cancun and was the eighth seed. In the first round the Brit was against Matheus Pucinelle De Almeida. Jubb took the game to the Brazilian and broke serve in the first set. The Brit was pushed hard in the second set and taken to a tiebreak. Pucinelle Del Almeida could not stay with the Brit in the breaker and Jubb moved into the next round 6-3, 7-6(4).

In the quarter-final the Brit was against the third seed Jorge Panta. The Peruvian although ranked higher, was no match for Jubb. The eighth seed was in control throughout the whole match, Panta struggled to hold serve. The Brit dominated and broke more or less at will. Jubb moved into the semi-final for the loss of two games 6-1, 6-1.
The semi-final saw the Brit against Canadian David Volfson. The seed continued where he had left off in the last round. Controlling the match Jubb took the first set without losing a game. In the second set the seed needed only one break of serve to move into the final 6-0, 6-3.
In the final the Brit was against seventh seed Joao Reis Da Silva. The Brazilian stayed toe to toe with Jubb in the first set and forced a tiebreak. In the breaker the Brit dominated and moved ahead for the lead. The second set saw Jubb totally control the match and didn’t lose another game to claim the title 7-6(3), 6-0.
