Joshua Paris entered the ITF event in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Brit was seeded eighth, and in the first round was up against Michael-John Every. The Brit started slowly as Every was able to stay with Paris. Eventually towards the end of the first set the Curaçaoan slipped up and the Brit was able to break for the lead. The second set was much easier for the Brit as Every could not handle Paris. Breaking again to seal the win the Brit moved into the next round in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.
In the second round the Brit was against Ethan Sibanda. The Zimbabwean was unable to handle the game of Paris as the Brit dominated the first set. The second set was a little bit closer as Sibanda tried to get back into the match. However, Paris was not letting up and broke to move into the quarter-final 6-2, 6-3.
The quarter-final saw Paris against the fourth seed Guy Iradukunda. The Burundian came out fast and obtained a break of serve on the Brit serve. Although Paris tried to fight back in the second set, it was Iradukunda who secured the vital break of serve and moved into the semi-final 6-4, 6-3.
