BEIJING, CHINA – Cameron Norrie looks to be more efficient in Beijing when he takes on Andrey Rublev in his opening round match.

After failing to take his chances against Aslan Karatsev in Zhuhai, Cameron Norrie looks to be more efficient when he takes on Andrey Rublev in Beijing.

Norrie will look to continue his returning efficiency against the stubborn serving of Rublev in this crucial opening round match.

 

 

Playing styles and prediction

Rublev has been in good form in recent months and enters the Asian swing having reached another Grand Slam quarter-final at the US Open. However the world number six will look to start winning titles on the ATP tour and that bid starts by using his recent momentum to produce a deep run in Beijing.

Norrie will need to be more aggressive on the backhand and will look to create more depth from the forehand. While Rublev will look to use his forehand to make the Brit run around the court as the fifth seed looks to take advantage of Norrie’s lack of confidence. The world number 17 will hope to take something positive heading into the rest of this season but Rublev’s recent run of form suggests this could be a heavy defeat for Norrie.

Prediction: Rublev in straight sets.
