BARCELONA, SPAIN – Cameron Norrie looks to kickstart his clay court campaign when he takes on Egor Gerasimov in his opening match in Barcelona.

Playing styles and prediction

Gerasimov hasn’t been in great form this year and entered Barcelona on a ten match main draw losing streak before beating Adrian Mannarino in the opening round. The Belarusian likes to be aggressive off his serve but lacks consistency which has prevented him from entering the top 100 in the world.

Norrie just needs to play a consistent level on serve and return to get through this match. Norrie’s variety and problem solving should be too much for Gerasimov and the Brit’s aggressive patterns of play in particular should get him through.

Prediction: Norrie in straight sets.
