Jack Draper def Jenson Brooksby 6-1 6-2
Jack Draper is into the second round in Antwerp after only dropping three games against American Jenson Brooksby. The Brit showed no sign of rust from injury in the early stages as he crushed the ball consistently with the American doing very little to neutralise Draperβs power. After securing two love service holds, Draper found the breakthrough in the fourth game as he converted his third break point for a 3-1 lead.
As well as power, Draper also had depth and accuracy as he was hitting all his shots perfectly with Brooksbyβs tactics not getting past the resilient Brit. After converting another break point, the Brit continued to serve with efficiency and precision with the first set being sealed to love in a rapid 28 minutes.
Brooksby managed to find the angles early in the second set and secure the rare winner as he held onto the second set and some belief that this match could turnaround. However the American couldnβt translate that belief into the scoreline as Draper continued to dominate from the baseline as he broke for a 2-1 lead.
After the early break there was always going to be one winner as Draper continued to be on the front-foot with the world number 48 turning defence into attack with ease. Another break to love was secured in the fifth game and the match was sealed with an ace as Draper comfortably moved into the second round.

Playing Styles and Prediction
Hurkacz has had another good season as he looks to make a late surge towards qualifying for the Nitto ATP Finals. The Poleβs attacking net play mixed with unique attacking shots makes him a threat for anyone on the tour and will look to step up his game on the European indoor hard courts.
Draper will not fear Hurkacz and will look to use his power and big first serve to set up aggressive patterns of play. While Hurkacz will look to use his effective movement to defend Draperβs attacking play and set up aggressive shot-making of his own. The Brit could cause the upset here but there is no doubting that the serve will be a big factor in determining the outcome here.
Prediction: Draper in three sets.
