The Argentinian didn’t have the best ending to the 2023 season having lost his last four matches as well as not winning back-to-back matches since the US Open. However the all-court game of Baez is effective as proven when he won the title at Winston-Salem. Now the Argentinian will look to provide more positive results as he aims to be a consistent presence inside the world’s top 30.
Draper will look to be aggressive and use his confidence from last season as he aims to be efficient on return. Meanwhile Baez will look to find confidence on serve as he looks to prioritise consistency over power and aggression. This will be a tight match but Draper’s confidence and Baez’s lack of recent confidence will be the key to winning this match for the Brit.
