Playing styles and prediction

Altmaier is a player who had a very good end to the season at the end of 2021 on the challenger circuit but has failed to rise to the challenge on the main tour at the start of this year. The German has only won two main draw matches from seven tournaments and is searching for some form against higher quality opposition.

Norrie will need to look out for the German’s bold patterns of play on big points especially on return and will look to continue his consistency from the baseline. Another good week this week would give the Brit confidence heading into Indian Wells and given his serving last week, there shouldn’t be any reason for an upset here.  

Prediction: Norrie in straight sets.
